Could have been manufactured by Bacon Manufacturing Company or Hopkins & Allen .22 short r.f. caliber, 7 shot single action revolver, spur trigger, solid flat sided frame, 2 1/8" or 2 1/4" round barrel, fluted or plain cylinder, square butt gripps, marked U.S. ARMS CO., N.Y. on the barrel .32 short r.f. caliber, 6 shot single action revolver, spur trigger, solid frame, 2" to 2 1/2" barrel, birdhead grips, marked U.S. ARMS CO. No. 32 left side right side and with full cylinder, right side .38 short r.f. caliber, 5 shot single action revolver, spur trigger, solid frame, 2 1/2" octagonal barrel, birdhead grips, marked U.S. ARMS CO., N.Y. and No. 38 on the topstrap Thanks to Darin for the following pictures of his gun right side serial number top strap marking on barrel (sorry, hardly to read) .41 short r.f. caliber, 5 shot single action revolver, spur trigger, solid frame, 2" octagonal barrel, fluted cylinder, birdhead grips, marked U.S. ARMS CO., N.Y. No. 41 most probably H&A production as there is one H&A Model in .41 r.f. caliber gun with a 2" barrel, with a patent date March 28.71 (Hopkins, Samuel S. patent) and the markings U.S. ARMS CO. N.Y., N.Y. right side U.S. Arms Co. was later (so about the 1890s and later) utilized as a brand by Crescent and H. & D. Folsom on shotguns. These shotguns have noting to do with the former U.S. Arms Co. which cessed all activities in 1878. |
